K Scope - Precious Heart EP
New release on the Dutch 4 Lux label. Fall Into You features Deborah Jordan and some very Lonnie Liston Smith sounding keys. The Emanative remix is also excellent.

Nicolay - Last Poets ft Keith Murray
Second in a series by Nicolay called Off The Shelf. Just like the previous "Nautilus" free download this another project that sadly got shelved, once again Nicolay rightly believes that the fruits of his labours shouldn't go unheard.
On this project Nicolay was asked to remix a track by legendary proto rappers The Last Poets called "Dakari". The track also features Keith Murray.
The project never went ahead and Nicolay left unpaid for his work, however by releasing the track for free more people can appreciate his talent. (he's been getting rave reviews for his Nautilus track)

LaRom Baker - You're The Best / Love Will Make It Better
Yet another quality re-issue from Lotus Land records.
This time it's from Philly born, California based LaRom "The Bomb" Baker. "You're The Best" is a nice slice of disco / boogie which was only released in a batch of 50 thus instantly becoming a collectors Holy Grail. "Love Will Make It Better" is a nice mellow 2 stepper which is getting it's first ever release

M Swift - Presents 24 Carat - Cafe Bahia (4 Hero Mix)
24-Carat is a new live jazz project produced by Japanese producer, Shouhei Matsushita a.k.a. M-SWIFT. On this 2nd EP is an excellent remix from passthefeelingon's favourite remixers/producers 4 Hero. They keep the live element of the track but add their own trademark broken samba beats underneath it.

Joe Bataan - The Wardrobe - Leeds - June 13th
In what to my knowledge is a first in the UK Joe Bataan will be appearing at the Wardrobe in Leeds on Saturday the 13th of May. Joe is remembered for a varied music career producing salsa, jazz, disco and even early rap records. He's still making music with the track "Call My Name" being a favourite of last year
If that's not enough Joe is supported by a big fan of his, James Pants, who impressed me greatly at a recent gig in Manchester. Also on the night is premiere UK latin jazz combo Grupo X and Manchesters very own Irfan from Rainy City music.
Due to sponsorship by the Red Bull Music Academy tickets are only £10, you can purchase them from Jumbo Records in Leeds (available online too)

El Michels Affair - Enter The 37th Chamber
Led by saxophonist/organist Leon Michels and producer/engineer Jeff Silverman, El Michels Affair began as a loose collaboration of session musicians, including members of Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, the Budos Band, and Antibalas. Michels and Silverman’s burgeoning label Truth & Soul released two smash 7” singles featuring reinterpretations of "C.R.E.A.M." and "Bring Da Ruckus." The singles sold an extraordinary 7,000 units worldwide, and their success led to a contract with Fat Beats Records for Enter The 37th Chamber, an album of Wu-Tang Clan interpolations.

Tanya Morgan - So Damn Down
May 13th sees the release of Brooklyn / Cincinnati hip hop group Tanya Morgan's 3rd project entitled "Brooklynati"
The Bridge EP last year gave us an appetiser for the album, the type of hip hop I love. Plenty of soul in the production and lyrics lacking in ignorance.
As a taster for the album check this free download of the first single courtesy of promotional company Audible Treats
